DESCRIPTION

Febuxostat is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor used to treat excess uric acid in the blood (hyperuricemia) in patients with gout.

SIDE EFFECTS

Side effects of Febuxostat include:

  • joint pain/swelling/stiffness,
  • nausea,
  • skin rash, and
  • dizziness.

INDICATION

Febuxostat is a xanthine oxidase (XO) inhibitor indicated for the chronic management of hyperuricemia in patients with gout.
