Description

An antidiarrheal medicine is used to prevent or treat infectious diarrhea of many etiologies. Has the potential to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria in the stomach and intestines. Helps to reduce the amount of fluid loss from the body in diarrhea. Restores the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset after antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections. Prevents electrolyte depletion from the bowel as a result of acute diarrhea without affecting intestinal motility. (Morris Gordon, 2016) Reduces the duration of illness and stool output in children with acute diarrhea. (Akobeng, 2016) An effective aid in preventing the recurrence of diarrhea caused by Clostridium difficile. A valuable therapeutic option for the treatment of acute diarrhea in children.
