Description

A synthetic corticosteroid that is used for managing various conditions associated with asthma, arthritis, and allergic and inflammatory conditions. Acts as an anti-inflammatory/immunosuppressive agent that reduces inflammation and suppresses immunity to stop self-damage to the body by the immune system. (Anna Esposito, 2019) Proven to be effective in the treatment of various rheumatological disorders. (Luca Parente, 2017) A promising therapeutic alternative in Duchenne muscular dystrophy, nephrotic syndrome, or renal transplantation. (Oscar Gonzalez-Perez, 2007) Useful in the treatment of bronchial asthma and in the exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. (Luca Parente, 2017) Exerts a protective effect on bone erosion and joint damage in rheumatoid arthritis patients. (Luca Parente, 2017) Exerts 10–20 times higher anti-inflammatory effect than prednisolone and 40 times higher than hydrocortisone. (Luca Parente, 2017)
