Description

An antibiotic treats severe or serious bacterial infections in different parts of the body. An antibacterial medication that is used in intensive care units for the treatment of patients with life-threatening Gram-negative infections. (Amélie Marsot, 2017) Possesses broad-spectrum activity against most gram-negative bacilli. (M Valdivieso, 1977) An important addition to the antibiotic armamentarium of a hospital with high gentamicin or tobramycin resistance. (F D Pien, 1981) An effective therapy for gram-negative bacteremia, even in seriously ill patients with gentamicin-resistant pathogens. (F P Tally, 1977) More effective than gentamicin, tobramycin, and sisomicin in case of infections with Klebsiella, Proteus species, Pseudomonas strains, and Enterobacter. (Jotzoff, 1978)
