BENIDIPINE 8mg. IP

An antihypertensive drug that is prescribed for high blood pressure and chest pain. A potent and long-lasting calcium antagonist that is useful for the treatment of elderly hypertensive patients with cardiovascular disease. (S Muneta, 1999) Exerts a more potent antihypertensive and renoprotective effect than cilnidipine in hypertensive patients with diabetes. (Hiroaki Seino, 2007) A well-tolerated and effective in elderly patients with essential hypertension. (Hai-Ya Wang, 2008) Shows greater efficacy than amlodipine in reducing blood pressure and proteinuria. (Mitsuru Ohishi, 2007) More effective than amlodipine for protecting renal function and potentially for ameliorating atherosclerosis in hypertensive patients with mild chronic kidney disease. (Tsukasa Nakamura, 2010) A potential therapeutic agent that is helpful in patients with other calcium channel blockers-resistant angina. (Hiromasa Suzuki, 2007) More useful for the treatment of vasospastic angina as compared with diltiazem and amlodipine.
