Prevents seizures and relieves pain for certain conditions in the nervous system. A beneficial pharmacological agent for numerous neurologic conditions, including neuropathic pain and epilepsy. Increases the number of specific nerve transmitters in the nervous system that reduces pain messages arriving in the brain. A suitable agent for the treatment of post-herpetic neuralgia.
