An aminoglycoside antimicrobial medicine is used to prevent or treat a variety of serious bacterial infections. An effective agent against a broad spectrum of organisms including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. (Brewer, 1977) The first drug of choice in the treatment of serious infections due to gram-negative bacilli. (R S Edson, 1983) An essential antibiotic used against numerous infections caused by multidrug-resistant strains. (Tolmasky, 2017) An alternative treatment of infections due to gram-negative bacilli. (J F Acar, 1976) An important addition to the antibiotic armamentarium of a hospital with high gentamicin or tobramycin resistance. (F D Pien, 1981) An efficacious and safe antibiotic in the treatment of severe gram-negative infections in elderly patients. (M Vanhaeverbeek, 1993) Significantly more efficacious than netilmicin for the treatment of Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections.
