An ophthalmic lubricant that is used to relieve burning, irritation, and discomfort due to dryness of the eye. (Haque, 2019) Effectively moistens, soothes dry eyes, and maintains proper lubrication of the eyes. Facilitates corneal epithelial wound healing and attenuates eye irritation. An effective candidate in the treatment of aqueous tear-deficient dry eye symptoms and ocular surface staining. (Garrett, et al., 2007) More soothing, less sticky, or blurring than Propylene Glycol 0.3%/Polyethylene Glycol 0.4% in dry eye patient. (Hom, Liu, & Kame, 2006) Provides greater relief of dry eye signs and symptoms than propylene glycol/polyethylene glycol 400. (Noecker, 2006) A viable and superior alternative to Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose as a gonioscopic solution.
