FOLPINE XT FERROUS ASCORBATE 100mg. IP + FOLIC ACID 1.5mg. IP

Folpine XT tablets combine ferrous ascorbate and folic acid for anaemia due to low iron or folate and for pregnancy support. Main uses: treatment of iron deficiency anaemia; treatment of folate deficiency anaemia; in pregnancy, for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency; in pregnancy, to supply a maintenance dosage of folic acid.

Common side effects of Folpine XT Tablet include loss of appetite; nausea; constipation; diarrhoea; heartburn; vomiting. Get medical help at once if you notice allergic sensitisation has been reported with folic acid.

Each Folpine XT tablet contains Ferrous Ascorbate 100 mg + Folic Acid 1.5 mg. The right dose and how long to take it depend on the condition, age and other medicines, so use Folpine XT Tablet only as your doctor advises.

The ferrous ascorbate in the tablet supplies iron for the body's production of haemoglobin, while the ascorbate helps the body take up that iron. Folic acid, a B vitamin, assists in the formation of red blood cells. Together the ingredients help maintain blood formation when dietary iron and folic acid are not enough.

Must not be used by anyone with a known allergy to any of its ingredients. Must not be used by patients with hemosiderosis, hemochromatosis or haemolytic anaemia (all iron compounds). Must not be used by patients with pernicious anaemia, as folic acid may hide its signs and symptoms. Folic acid alone is improper therapy for pernicious anaemia and other megaloblastic anaemias caused by vitamin B12 deficiency: it may bring about blood improvement while the nerve-related problems keep getting worse. Check with a doctor first if you have peptic ulcer, regional enteritis or ulcerative colitis. Keep out of reach of children under 6; accidental overdose of iron-containing products can be fatal in children. In case of accidental overdose, call a doctor or poison control center immediately.
