Zardcef T Injection has Ceftriaxone and Tazobactam and is used to treat bacterial infections caused by susceptible bacteria. Main uses: treatment of lower respiratory tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria; treatment of urinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria; treatment of skin and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible bacteria; treatment of intra-abdominal infections caused by susceptible bacteria; treatment of pelvic infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

Common side effects of Zardcef T Injection include diarrhoea or loose stools; pain, redness, swelling or induration at the injection site; rash; nausea or vomiting; phlebitis after intravenous administration; eosinophilia or raised platelet count. Get medical help at once if you notice severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) with breathing difficulty or swelling of the face, throat or tongue; severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis; pseudomembranous colitis with severe or bloody diarrhoea during or after treatment.

Ceftriaxone works by preventing susceptible bacteria from forming their cell walls, so the organisms cannot grow or multiply. Tazobactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that shuts down the enzymes certain bacteria release to destroy antibiotics, which lets Ceftriaxone remain active against those bacteria. Used together, the two cover a range of susceptible organisms.

Must not be used by patients with known hypersensitivity to Ceftriaxone, Tazobactam, any cephalosporin or the excipients of this injection. Must not be used in premature neonates up to a post-menstrual age of 41 weeks. Must not be used in hyperbilirubinemic neonates. Must not be used in neonates who require calcium-containing intravenous solutions. Check with a doctor first if you are allergic to penicillin or other beta-lactam medicines (extra care is needed as the reaction risk is higher), are pregnant or breastfeeding, have kidney or liver disease, or have a history of colitis.
