Rifavib 400 tablets contain Rifaximin 400 mg for travellers' diarrhoea, IBS-D and reduction in risk of hepatic encephalopathy recurrence in adults. Main uses: treatment of travellers' diarrhoea caused by noninvasive strains of Escherichia coli in adults and children 12 years of age and older; reduction in the risk of recurrence of hepatic encephalopathy (build-up of toxins affecting the brain due to severe liver disease) in adults; treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea (IBS-D) in adults; should be used only for infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria.

Common side effects of Rifavib 400 Tablet include headache; nausea; constipation; dizziness; feeling tired or fatigued; swelling of the feet or ankles (peripheral oedema). Get medical help at once if you notice severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis, swelling of the face or lips (angioneurotic oedema), or exfoliative dermatitis; clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea occurring during or after treatment.
