About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Migovib 40 from Vibcare Pharma's Mind division is a tablet. Each tablet contains Propranolol 40 mg. It belongs to the class of medicines called beta-blockers, used in cardiovascular care as an anti-hypertensive, and it is packed as 10x10 (Blister).

How it works

Propranolol in these tablets works by blocking the effects of adrenaline-like substances on the heart. This reduces the heart rate and the force of heart contraction and lowers the output of blood from the heart. A reduced release of renin by the kidneys and reduced sympathetic nerve signals from the brain may also be among the factors involved in its blood pressure effect. In angina, the reduced workload of the heart lowers its oxygen requirement during effort.

Used for

The tablets are used for the management of hypertension, to reduce the frequency of angina attacks and improve exercise tolerance, and for the prevention of common migraine headache. They are also used in hypertrophic subaortic stenosis.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.

  • Low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • Light-headedness or tiredness

  • Bronchospasm (breathing difficulty)

  • Prevention (prophylaxis) of common migraine headache
  • Improvement of symptoms in patients with hypertrophic subaortic stenosis

  • Must not be used in cardiogenic shock.
  • Must not be used in sinus bradycardia or heart block greater than first degree.
  • Must not be used in patients with bronchial asthma.
  • Must not be used in patients with known allergy to propranolol.

Ask a doctor first

  • Check with a doctor first if you have heart failure, diabetes (propranolol may mask the warning signs of low blood sugar, including a rapid heartbeat, so blood sugar should be monitored carefully), liver or kidney problems, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; do not stop the tablets suddenly on your own.
