VIBTICA 90 TICAGRELOR 90mg. IP

Vibtica 90 tablets contain Ticagrelor 90 mg and are used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke and cardiac death in certain heart patients. Main uses: to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death, heart attack and stroke in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) or a history of heart attack; to reduce the risk of stent thrombosis (clot formation in a stent) in patients who have had a stent placed for the treatment of ACS; to reduce the risk of a first heart attack or stroke in patients with coronary artery disease who are at high risk for such events; to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with acute ischaemic stroke (NIH Stroke Scale score of 5 or less) or high-risk transient ischaemic attack (TIA).

Common side effects of Vibtica 90 Tablet include bleeding events such as nosebleeds, bruising, and prolonged bleeding from small cuts; shortness of breath (dyspnea), usually mild and settling on its own; headache; dizziness; nausea; cough. Get medical help at once if you notice significant, sometimes fatal bleeding, including major and life-threatening bleeding; intracranial haemorrhage (bleeding inside the brain); severe allergic reactions including angioedema (swelling of the face, lips or throat).

Each Vibtica 90 tablet contains Ticagrelor 90 mg. The right dose and how long to take it depend on the condition, age and other medicines, so use Vibtica 90 Tablet only as your doctor advises.

The MRP of Vibtica 90 Tablet is ₹393.75 for a pack of 10x14 (Blister). For chemists and distributors, the PTR is ₹300 and the PTS is ₹270.

Ticagrelor, the active ingredient, works by binding reversibly to the P2Y12 ADP receptor found on platelets in the blood. This blocks the signal that normally switches platelets on, so they clump together less readily and a blood clot is less likely to form inside an artery. Its active metabolite acts on the receptor in the same way.

Must not be used in patients with a history of intracranial haemorrhage (bleeding inside the brain). Must not be used in patients with active pathological bleeding, such as a bleeding peptic ulcer. Must not be used in patients who are allergic to ticagrelor or any ingredient of the tablet. Must not be started in patients undergoing urgent coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Check with a doctor first in patients with severe liver impairment, as the level of ticagrelor in the body is likely to increase.
