About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Sitavib M 500 is a tablet made by Vibcare Pharma. Each tablet carries Sitagliptin Phosphate 50mg and Metformin 500mg. It belongs to the anti-diabetic class and is packed as 2x15 (Blister) from Vibcare Pharma's C.U.R.E. division.

How it works

Sitagliptin Phosphate slows the breakdown of incretin hormones released by the intestine after meals, so the pancreas is supported to release insulin and blood sugar rises less after eating. Metformin reduces the sugar produced by the liver and helps the body respond to its own insulin. The two ingredients work in different ways to improve glycemic control.

Used for

These tablets are used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
