VIROVIB 400 DTACYCLOVIR 400mg. IP

Virovib 400 DT tablets contain Acyclovir 400 mg and are used for herpes zoster, genital herpes and chickenpox. Main uses: acute treatment of herpes zoster (shingles); treatment of initial episodes of genital herpes; management of recurrent episodes of genital herpes; treatment of chickenpox (varicella).

Common side effects of Virovib 400 DT Tablet include nausea; vomiting; diarrhoea; headache; malaise (general unwell feeling). Get medical help at once if you notice renal failure has been reported with acyclovir therapy, in some cases resulting in death; thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura / haemolytic uremic syndrome (TTP/HUS), in some cases resulting in death, in immunocompromised patients.

Acyclovir is a synthetic antiviral agent that works selectively on virus-infected cells. Inside these cells it is converted into an active form that stops the virus from copying its DNA. Must not be used by patients who develop hypersensitivity to acyclovir or valacyclovir.
