About the product

Description

Renovib tablets come from Vibcare Pharma's Genvimax division and belong to the class of keto-analogue amino acid preparations. Each tablet has alpha-keto-isoleucine calcium salt 67 mg, alpha-keto-leucine calcium salt 101 mg, alpha-keto-phenylalanine calcium salt 68 mg, alpha-keto-valine calcium salt 86 mg, alpha-hydroxy methionine calcium salt 59 mg, threonine 53 mg, tryptophan 23 mg, histidine 38 mg, tyrosine 30 mg, lysine acetate 105 mg, total nitrogen content 36 mg and total calcium content 50 mg, with excipients q.s. It is packed as 10x10 (Alu Alu).

How it works

The four alpha-keto salts and the alpha-hydroxy salt are analogues of essential amino acids; inside the body they are changed into those amino acids where they are needed, and they carry less nitrogen than the amino acids themselves. Threonine, tryptophan, histidine and lysine are essential amino acids supplied directly, and tyrosine supports protein building. The calcium salts also add calcium to the daily intake, so serum calcium should be monitored regularly during treatment.

Used for

Renovib is used along with a protein-restricted diet in chronic kidney disease, to supply essential amino acids while limiting nitrogen intake.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
