Description

Atovib ASP 75/10 is a capsule from Vibcare Pharma. Each capsule contains Atorvastatin 10 mg and Aspirin 75 mg. It belongs to the cardiovascular class of medicines used for lipid lowering and platelet control. The product is packed as 10x15 (Alu Strip).

How it works

Atorvastatin works by blocking an enzyme in the liver that makes cholesterol, so less cholesterol is produced and more LDL is cleared from the blood. Aspirin in a low dose of 75 mg works on platelets, the small blood cells that clump together to form clots. By making platelets less sticky, it lowers the chance of a clot forming inside an artery. The two ingredients act on different steps of the same problem, so the capsule supports both cholesterol control and clot prevention at the same time.

Used for

This capsule is used to lower raised LDL cholesterol and other blood fats alongside diet, and to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, revascularisation procedures and angina in adults at risk of coronary heart disease. Aspirin can cause severe stomach bleeding; the risk is higher if you are aged 60 or above, have had stomach ulcers or bleeding problems, take blood thinners, steroids or other painkillers of this type, have three or more alcoholic drinks a day, or take it for longer than advised. Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness to your doctor promptly.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
