Description

Available from Vibcare Pharma, Atovib CV 10 is a capsule dosage form containing Atorvastatin 10 mg and Clopidogrel 75 mg. It is classified as an antiplatelet medicine combined with a statin. This item is supplied as 10x15 (Alu Strip).

How it works

In this formulation, Clopidogrel 75 mg acts on platelets by blocking the P2Y12 class of ADP receptors through its active metabolite, which prevents platelet activation and the clotting that can obstruct blood flow. Atorvastatin 10 mg acts in the liver as an inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, lowering the amount of cholesterol made and raising the uptake of LDL particles from the blood. The two ingredients work in different ways to support patients at risk of arterial blockage.

Used for

Doctors prescribe these capsules to reduce LDL cholesterol as an addition to diet, and to reduce the rates of heart attack and stroke in people with coronary heart disease, acute coronary syndrome (where they are used together with aspirin as directed), a recent myocardial infarction, a recent stroke or peripheral arterial disease.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
