Description
Pilovib Plus Cream is a topical anti-haemorrhoidal preparation from Vibcare Pharma's Grace division. Every unit of the cream carries Calcium Dobesilate 0.25w/v, Lignocaine 3w/v, Hydrocortisone Acetate 0.25w/v, Zinc Oxide 5w/v, Phenylephrine 0.10w/v and Troxerutin 2w/v. It falls in the dermatology and topical (anti-haemorrhoidal) class and is packed as 30gm.
How it works
Lignocaine numbs the area to ease pain and burning, while Hydrocortisone Acetate eases inflammation, redness and itching. Phenylephrine narrows local blood vessels and helps shrink swollen haemorrhoidal tissue. Calcium Dobesilate and Troxerutin limit leakage from small blood vessels and local swelling, and Zinc Oxide lays a protective layer over chafed, irritated skin.
Used for
The cream relieves pain, soreness, burning and itching linked with haemorrhoids, anal fissures and pruritus ani, and protects the irritated surface so bowel movements are less painful. Keep it away from the eyes, nose, mouth and ears. Stop use and see a doctor if rectal bleeding occurs or if the condition worsens or does not improve within 7 days.

Do not use
- Must not be used in patients with a known allergy to lidocaine or other amide-type local anaesthetics, or to any ingredient of the cream.
- Must not be used on tuberculous or fungal skin lesions, vaccinia, varicella or acute herpes simplex lesions.
- Must not be used in the eyes, inside the nose or mouth, or in the ears. For external use only.
- Must not be ingested. Keep out of the reach of children.
- Must not be applied excessively or on a large area or for a long time; lignocaine is absorbed more readily through fissured, broken or irritated tissue, and excessive use can cause serious systemic effects.
