About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Clinivib 600 Injection is an intravenous antibiotic injection from Vibcare Pharma, containing Clindamycin Phosphate 600 mg in each unit. It belongs to the class of antibacterial (antibiotic and anti-infective) medicines and is packed as 1's from Vibcare Pharma's Grace division.

How it works

Clindamycin binds to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome and blocks protein synthesis, so the bacteria cannot grow and multiply. It is a bacteriostatic antibiotic, meaning it holds bacterial growth in check while the body's immune system clears the infection. Clindamycin Phosphate is the form that is activated in the body to release clindamycin, and the injection is given by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic setting.

Used for

This injection is used for serious infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria and by susceptible strains of streptococci, pneumococci and staphylococci, including lower respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, empyema and lung abscess, skin and skin structure infections, and gynaecological infections such as endometritis and non-gonococcal tubo-ovarian abscess. It is used only for serious infections, as judged by the doctor. Diarrhoea due to Clostridioides difficile can occur during or after treatment and may be severe or fatal, so tell a doctor at once if diarrhoea develops.

Given only by a doctor or nurse.
