Clopivib A 75 capsules combine clopidogrel 75 mg and aspirin 75 mg to reduce heart attack and stroke risk in acute coronary syndrome. Main uses: to reduce the rate of myocardial infarction (heart attack) and stroke in non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome (unstable angina and NSTEMI), whether managed medically or with coronary revascularization; to reduce the rate of myocardial infarction and stroke in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) managed medically; given together with aspirin, as directed by a doctor, in acute coronary syndrome.

Common side effects of Clopivib A 75 Capsule include bleeding, including bleeding from the stomach or gut and at puncture sites; bruising or bleeding taking longer to stop; indigestion, heartburn or stomach discomfort; nausea or vomiting; stomach pain; diarrhoea. Get medical help at once if you notice severe or life-threatening bleeding; bleeding inside the brain (intracranial haemorrhage); severe allergic reaction with hives, facial swelling, wheezing or shock.

Clopidogrel is changed in the body to an active form that binds to P2Y12 ADP receptors on platelets and stops clumping. Aspirin works on a separate step in platelets and also limits clumping. The two are combined because clopidogrel is given together with aspirin in acute coronary syndrome.

Must not be used in patients with active pathological bleeding such as peptic ulcer or bleeding inside the brain. Must not be used by anyone allergic to clopidogrel, aspirin or any other pain reliever of this type. Must not be used by children or teenagers who have or are recovering from chicken pox or flu-like illness (Reye's syndrome risk). Use together with omeprazole or esomeprazole should be avoided, because these medicines reduce the antiplatelet effect of clopidogrel. Check with a doctor first if you have a history of stomach ulcers, stomach problems or bleeding disorders, and the prescriber should plan to stop the medicine 5 days before elective surgery that has a major risk of bleeding.
