Chymolam DP is a tablet of diclofenac, paracetamol and trypsin chymotrypsin for pain, swelling and inflammation. Main uses: relief of mild to moderate pain; relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis; relief of the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis; primary dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain); pain and swelling of soft tissue injuries such as sprains and strains.

Common side effects of Chymolam DP Tablet include abdominal pain; dyspepsia (indigestion); nausea; diarrhoea; constipation; flatulence. Get medical help at once if you notice gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration or perforation of the stomach or intestines; heart attack or stroke; severe skin reactions such as reddening, rash or blisters.

Three ingredients work together in this tablet. Diclofenac is an NSAID that lowers prostaglandins and so brings relief from pain, inflammation and fever. Paracetamol acts on the pain and heat centres of the brain to reduce pain and temperature. Trypsin Chymotrypsin are proteolytic enzymes that clear protein debris where swelling has occurred and support recovery of the affected soft tissue.

Must not be used if allergic to diclofenac, paracetamol, aspirin or other NSAIDs, or to any ingredient of the tablet. Must not be used by patients with a history of asthma, urticaria or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs. Must not be used in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Must not be used in the third trimester of pregnancy; use earlier in pregnancy or while breast-feeding only under a doctor's direction. Check with a doctor first if there is liver disease, kidney disease, heart disease or high blood pressure, a stomach ulcer or history of stomach bleeding, if taking warfarin or other blood thinners, or if 3 or more alcoholic drinks are taken every day.
