Vibospas S Drops is a liquid antispasmodic with dimethicone used for gut cramps, spasm and gas in functional bowel disorders. Main uses: relief of abdominal cramps and spasms in functional bowel (irritable bowel) syndrome; relief of bloating and trapped wind along with gut spasm; relief of colicky abdominal discomfort caused by spasm of the gut; supportive relief of gassy distension in patients with an irritable bowel.

Common side effects of Vibospas S Drops include dry mouth; blurred vision; dizziness; nausea; drowsiness or sleepiness; weakness or tiredness. Get medical help at once if you notice rapid heartbeat or palpitations; confusion, hallucinations or delirium, especially in elderly patients; heat stroke or fever with decreased sweating.

Two ingredients act together in this medicine. Dicyclomine Hcl works on the smooth muscle of the stomach and intestines, easing the spasm that causes cramping and pain; it acts both on nerve-receptor sites and directly on the muscle. Activated Dimethicone works inside the gut by breaking up the small gas bubbles that get trapped in the digestive contents, so the gas can be passed and the feeling of fullness and bloating is reduced.

Must not be used in infants less than 6 months of age. Must not be used by nursing mothers. Must not be used by patients with glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, obstructive disease of the gastrointestinal tract, obstructive uropathy, severe ulcerative colitis, reflux esophagitis or unstable cardiovascular status during acute haemorrhage. Must not be used in patients with Salmonella dysentery because of the risk of toxic megacolon. Check with a doctor first in elderly patients, patients with mental illness, heart conditions or ulcerative colitis.
