VIBPARIN 40 PFSENOXAPARIN 40mg. IP

Vibparin 40 PFS is an enoxaparin 40 mg injection used to prevent and treat blood clots in at-risk patients. Main uses: prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients undergoing abdominal surgery who are at risk of clotting problems; prevention of DVT in patients undergoing hip replacement surgery, during and after hospitalisation; prevention of DVT in patients undergoing knee replacement surgery; prevention of DVT in medical patients whose movement is severely restricted during acute illness; inpatient treatment of acute DVT with or without pulmonary embolism, along with warfarin.

Common side effects of Vibparin 40 PFS Injection include bleeding; anaemia; low platelet count (thrombocytopenia); rise in liver enzymes (serum aminotransferase); nausea or diarrhoea; bruising at or away from the injection site, fever and swelling. Get medical help at once if you notice severe or uncontrolled bleeding; epidural or spinal haematoma that can lead to long-term or permanent paralysis; heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT), with or without clotting.

Enoxaparin works against thrombin and factor Xa, two clotting factors in the blood. By slowing their action, it helps stop clots from forming in the veins and arteries. It is generally given as an injection under the skin; use into a vein is limited to specific labelled indications and protocols.

Must not be used in patients with active major bleeding. Must not be used in patients with a history of immune-mediated heparin-induced thrombocytopenia within the past 100 days or in the presence of circulating antibodies. Must not be used in patients allergic to enoxaparin sodium. Must not be used in patients allergic to heparin or pork products. Check with a doctor first in patients having epidural or spinal procedures, those on other blood thinners or NSAIDs, and patients with spinal deformity, spinal surgery, liver or kidney problems, or during pregnancy.
