XITOLOL 10*ESCITALOPRAM 10mg. IP

Xitolol 10 tablets contain escitalopram 10 mg and are used for major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. Main uses: treatment of major depressive disorder in adults and in children 12 years of age and older; treatment of generalized anxiety disorder in adults; improvement in low mood, loss of interest and related symptoms of depression; reduction of excessive worry and anxiety symptoms in generalized anxiety disorder.

Common side effects of Xitolol 10 Tablet include insomnia; ejaculation disorder, mainly delayed ejaculation; nausea; increased sweating; fatigue and drowsiness; decreased libido. Get medical help at once if you notice suicidal thoughts and behaviour, especially in children, adolescents and young adults; serotonin syndrome, which can occur with other serotonergic agents or when escitalopram is taken alone; low blood sodium (hyponatremia).

Must not be used by patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), within 14 days after stopping an MAOI, or within 14 days before starting an MAOI after stopping escitalopram. Must not be used by patients taking pimozide. Must not be used by patients receiving linezolid or intravenous methylene blue. Must not be used by patients allergic to escitalopram or citalopram. Check with a doctor first if there is a history of seizures, bipolar disorder, narrow-angle glaucoma or low sodium; bleeding risk is raised when escitalopram is used with aspirin, NSAIDs, antiplatelet drugs, warfarin or other drugs that affect coagulation.
