Ferlib FCM 500 Injection is an intravenous iron (ferric carboxymaltose 50 mg) injection for iron deficiency anaemia. Main uses: treatment of iron deficiency anaemia in adults and children 1 year and older who cannot take oral iron or do not respond to it; treatment of iron deficiency anaemia in adults with non-dialysis dependent chronic kidney disease; iron deficiency in adults with heart failure (New York Heart Association class II/III) to improve exercise capacity; iron replacement given by a doctor or nurse when iron is needed intravenously.

Common side effects of Ferlib FCM 500 Injection include nausea; flushing or redness of the skin; injection site reactions such as pain, swelling or discolouration; dizziness; high blood pressure; low blood phosphate levels (hypophosphatemia). Get medical help at once if you notice severe and prolonged low blood phosphate levels with outcomes such as weak bones (osteomalacia) and fractures; hypersensitivity reactions including serious allergic reactions; marked rise in blood pressure after the infusion.
