About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Gabavib 300 is a capsule from Vibcare Pharma's Mind division. Each capsule holds Gabapentin 300 mg, an anti-epileptic and nerve pain medicine. It is packed as 10x10 (Alu Alu).

How it works

Gabapentin is related to the body's natural chemical GABA but does not act on GABA binding, uptake or breakdown. It binds with high affinity to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-activated calcium channels on nerve cells. The precise way it works in nerve pain and seizures, and how this binding helps, is not fully understood.

Used for

Gabavib 300 is used for postherpetic neuralgia in adults and as add-on therapy for partial onset seizures in adults and children 3 years and older with epilepsy. If a rash with fever or swollen glands (DRESS) or signs of anaphylaxis or angioedema appear, stop the capsules and seek immediate medical evaluation. Gabapentin can cause respiratory depression, especially with opioid painkillers or other CNS depressants or with breathing problems, so monitoring and dose adjustment may be needed. Watch for suicidal thoughts or behaviour and for mood changes in children 3 to 12 years.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
