Gabavib NT 400/10 tablets contain Gabapentin 400 mg and Nortriptyline 10 mg for the management of neuropathic pain. Main uses: management of postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain that follows shingles); management of neuropathic pain caused by damaged nerves; relief of nerve pain symptoms such as burning, shooting or tingling pain.

Common side effects of Gabavib NT 400/10 Tablet include dizziness; sleepiness or drowsiness; swelling of the feet or ankles (peripheral edema); dry mouth; blurred vision; constipation. Get medical help at once if you notice severe allergic reaction with swelling of the face, lips or tongue (angioedema); new or worsening thoughts of self-harm or unusual changes in behaviour; rapid or irregular heartbeat, heart block.

The Gabapentin 400 mg in each tablet binds to calcium channels and reduces the abnormal nerve signals that cause nerve pain. Nortriptyline 10 mg is a tricyclic antidepressant that increases levels of certain chemical messengers in the brain and helps block pain messages travelling from injured nerves. The combination addresses nerve pain through two different mechanisms.

Must not be used if you are allergic to gabapentin, nortriptyline or other tricyclic antidepressants. Must not be used during treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), within 14 days of stopping an MAOI before starting this medicine, or within 14 days of stopping this medicine before starting an MAOI.
