Vibcqs 200 tablets contain Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate 200 mg, used for malaria and for rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Main uses: treatment of uncomplicated malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium malariae, Plasmodium ovale and Plasmodium vivax; prevention (prophylaxis) of malaria in areas where chloroquine resistance has not been reported; treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in adults; treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus in adults; treatment of chronic discoid lupus erythematosus in adults.

Common side effects of Vibcqs 200 Tablet include nausea; vomiting; diarrhoea; stomach or abdominal cramps; loss of appetite; headache. Get medical help at once if you notice cardiomyopathy and irregular or life-threatening heart rhythms; irreversible retinal damage affecting vision; a baseline retinal (eye) examination before treatment and eye examinations during treatment are recommended; serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis.

Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate is a 4-aminoquinoline compound. In malaria it acts against the parasite at the blood stage of the infection. In rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, it works by reducing inflammation and modulating the immune system, although the exact way it does this is not fully known.

Must not be used in patients with known allergy (hypersensitivity) to 4-aminoquinoline compounds. Use should be avoided in patients with psoriasis, as it may make psoriasis worse. Use should be avoided in patients with porphyria.
