Description

Broxovic LCZ Syrup (womc) is a syrup used for cough and cold complaints. Each formulation contains Levocetirizine 2.5 mg, Ambroxol 15 mg, Guaiphenesin 50 mg and Menthol 1 mg. It falls in the cough and cold class, pairing an antihistamine with a mucolytic, an expectorant and a soothing agent. The syrup is packed as 60ml and comes from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division.

How it works

This syrup works through four ingredients. Levocetirizine blocks the action of histamine at H1 receptors, which helps bring down sneezing, runny nose, itching and hives. Ambroxol thins and loosens sticky mucus in the airways so that it can be coughed up more easily. Guaiphenesin is an expectorant that loosens phlegm and thins bronchial secretions so the bronchial tubes can drain. Menthol adds a cooling, soothing feeling in the throat and eases throat irritation.

Used for

The syrup is used to loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions so the bronchial tubes drain, to help clear mucus from the airways, and to ease allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itching and hives.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
