About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Loxofib 500 (blister) is a tablet from Vibcare Pharma that contains Levofloxacin 500 mg. It belongs to the fluoroquinolone group of antibacterial medicines and is packed as 10x10 (Blister). This brand is offered from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division.

How it works

Levofloxacin works by interfering with the DNA that bacteria need to grow and multiply. When the bacteria cannot copy or repair their DNA, they are unable to survive, and the infection is brought under control. Each tablet gives one 500 mg dose of this antibacterial substance.

Used for

It is used for bacterial infections like pneumonia, sinusitis, chronic bronchitis flare-ups, skin infections, urinary tract infections, acute pyelonephritis and chronic bacterial prostatitis. Levofloxacin can cause tendon, nerve and brain reactions that may be disabling; stop the tablet and contact a doctor at once if tendon pain, numbness or mood changes occur.
