About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

A tablet from Vibcare Pharma, Loxojem 500 carries Levofloxacin 500 mg as its active substance. The medicine falls in the fluoroquinolone class of antibacterials, and it comes packed as 10x10 (Blister). The product is marketed through Vibcare Pharma's Auspin division.

How it works

In this formulation, Levofloxacin acts on bacteria by blocking the enzymes they use to work with their DNA. Without working DNA, the bacteria cannot multiply, and the number of infection-causing organisms falls. That is how the tablet helps clear up a bacterial infection.

Used for

Doctors prescribe it for nosocomial and community-acquired pneumonia, acute bacterial sinusitis, flare-ups of chronic bronchitis, complicated and uncomplicated skin infections, complicated and uncomplicated urinary tract infections, acute pyelonephritis and chronic bacterial prostatitis.
