About the product
By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references
Linavib 5 is a tablet form of anti-diabetic medicine from Vibcare Pharma. Each tablet contains Linagliptin 5 mg, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, which is the class to which it belongs. The pack is 10x10 (Alu Alu). This brand is supplied from Vibcare Pharma's C.U.R.E. division.
Linagliptin works by blocking the DPP-4 enzyme, which normally breaks down the incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP. When these hormones stay active for longer, insulin is released from the pancreas in response to blood sugar and the level of glucagon in the blood comes down. This helps in regulating glucose in the body after meals.
The tablets are used along with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
