About the product
By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references
Loprovib 2 is a tablet from Vibcare Pharma. Each tablet contains Loperamide 2 mg, and it belongs to the anti-diarrhoeal class of medicines, which slow down the movement of the intestine. The product is packed as 10x10 (Blister) and is marketed from Vibcare Pharma's Genvimax division.
Loperamide 2 mg in Loprovib 2 acts on the muscle of the intestine wall and reduces the speed at which the gut moves. With slower movement, the intestine takes up more water from the stools, so the stools become firmer and are passed less often, and the fluid lost in diarrhoea comes down.
Loprovib 2 tablets are used for the control and symptomatic relief of acute nonspecific diarrhoea in patients 2 years of age and older, for chronic diarrhoea in adults linked with inflammatory bowel disease, and for reducing the volume of discharge from ileostomies.
Read the label, and ask a doctor or pharmacist if unsure.
