LOSAVIB A LOSARTAN 50mg. IP + AMLODIPINE 5mg. IP

Losavib A tablets combine losartan 50 mg with amlodipine 5 mg for the treatment of high blood pressure. Main uses: treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults; used when blood pressure is not controlled by either medicine alone; lowering blood pressure helps reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack.

Common side effects of Losavib A Tablet include dizziness; swelling of the ankles or feet (fluid retention); headache; flushing; nasal congestion; upper respiratory infection. Get medical help at once if you notice marked low blood pressure, especially in patients who are short of salt or fluid; raised potassium levels in the blood; worsening of kidney function in susceptible patients.

Losartan works by blocking angiotensin II, a substance in the body that tightens blood vessels; with it blocked, the vessels relax and blood pressure falls. Both actions together help to bring blood pressure down.

Must not be used in pregnancy; the medicine can injure the developing baby and it must be stopped as soon as pregnancy is detected. Must not be used by anyone allergic to losartan, amlodipine or any other ingredient of the tablet. Must not be used together with aliskiren in patients with diabetes.
