About the product
By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references
An eye drop from Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division, Segamox Eye Drop carries Moxifloxacin 0.5%w/v and Benzalkonium Chloride 0.02%v/v as its two ingredients. The formulation falls in the fluoroquinolone antibiotic class of eye medicines. The product is packed as 5ml.
The main ingredient, moxifloxacin, is a fluoroquinolone that acts against the bacteria causing the eye infection. Benzalkonium chloride serves as a preservative and helps inhibit microbial growth in the drops once the bottle is in use.
Doctors prescribe it for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae and Chlamydia trachomatis. Stop the drops and get medical help if swelling, hives or breathing difficulty occurs.
Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
