About the product
Description
Moxifloxacin 0.5% and dexamethasone 0.1% eye drop. Moxifloxacin, a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone, acts on the Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria that commonly cause eye infections. Dexamethasone, a corticosteroid, controls inflammation, redness and swelling. The combination treats or prevents bacterial infection while suppressing inflammation, which is why it is used after cataract and other eye surgery and in inflammatory eye conditions where infection is present or likely. The drop should not be stopped suddenly after surgery or used beyond the prescribed period without an eye examination.
Side Effects
Temporary stinging, burning or blurred vision after putting in the drops; eye irritation, itching, dryness, watering, redness; bitter taste., With prolonged use of the steroid: rise in eye pressure (glaucoma), cataract, slower wound healing and higher risk of fungal or viral (herpes) eye infection., Rare reports of iris pigment loss (bilateral acute iris transillumination) after use of this combination., Contact lenses should not be worn during treatment., Not for use in viral (including herpes simplex), fungal or mycobacterial eye infection.

Prevention of infection and control of inflammation after cataract and other eye surgery , Bacterial conjunctivitis and blepharitis with marked inflammation , Steroid-responsive inflammation of the front of the eye where bacterial infection is present or likely
