Read our full guide: Cold tablets: what they contain and when to see a doctor
Available from Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division, Everpara Total Advance comes in tablet form. One tablet provides Paracetamol 325 mg, Phenylephrine 5 mg, Ambroxol 15 mg, Guaiphenesin 50 mg and Cetirizine 5 mg. The product falls in the cough and cold class and is packed as 10x10 (Alu Alu).
The ingredients work together in different ways. Paracetamol brings down fever and relieves body aches. Phenylephrine opens up a blocked nose and eases sinus congestion. Ambroxol and Guaiphenesin thin and loosen phlegm so it can be coughed out, while Cetirizine settles sneezing, runny nose and itchy eyes.
It is used for the usual cold complaints: aches, fever, nasal and sinus congestion, sore throat, cough with mucus and allergic symptoms such as sneezing. Since Cetirizine may cause drowsiness, use care when driving or operating machinery.
Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
