About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Waxovib Ear Drop is an ear drop formulation containing Paradichlorobenzene 2.0%w/v, Benzocaine 2.7%w/v, Chlorbutol 5.0%w/v and Turpentine Oil 15%v/v. It belongs to the class of ear drops used for earwax softening and relief of ear pain. The product is packed as 10ml and comes from Vibcare Pharma's Optho division.

How it works

In this formulation, Paradichlorobenzene works by softening and loosening hardened earwax so that it can move out of the ear canal. Benzocaine is a local anaesthetic that numbs the affected area and relieves pain. Chlorbutol provides a mild anaesthetic and antiseptic action. Turpentine Oil further assists in softening earwax and aiding its release from the ear canal.

Used for

Waxovib Ear Drop is used to soften and help remove built-up earwax and to relieve ear pain and discomfort linked to wax. Benzocaine may cause methemoglobinemia, a rare but serious condition in which the blood carries less oxygen; stop use and seek immediate medical attention if you notice pale, grey or bluish skin, headache, rapid heart rate, shortness of breath, dizziness or unusual tiredness.

Read the label, and ask a doctor or pharmacist if unsure.
