About the product

Description

Permethrin 1% w/w medicated soap for topical use. Permethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid that blocks sodium channels in the nerve cell membranes of mites and lice, causing paralysis and death of the parasite; very little is absorbed through human skin. The soap is used as an add-on for bathing in the treatment of scabies and lice. All household contacts are treated at the same time, and clothing and bedding are washed in hot water.

Side Effects

Burning, stinging, tingling, itching, redness or rash at the application site; mild dryness., Itching after treatment can continue for 2–4 weeks as the skin reaction to dead mites settles and does not by itself mean treatment failure., Less common: numbness, contact dermatitis, swelling., Contact with eyes, mouth and mucous membranes should be avoided., Not for use in patients allergic to permethrin, pyrethroids or chrysanthemums..

Indication

Scabies, including treatment of household contacts , Pediculosis (head lice and pubic lice) as advised , Soap as add-on care during treatment of scabies
