About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Valpovib CR 300 is a tablet from Vibcare Pharma's Mind division. Each tablet gives Sodium Valproate 200 mg and Valproic Acid 87 mg. It belongs to the anticonvulsant (antiepileptic) class and is packed as 10x10 (Alu Strip).

How it works

Both ingredients break down to the valproate ion in the body. The way valproate works has not been fully established; it is thought to act in epilepsy by increasing the concentration of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain. Sodium valproate and valproic acid contribute the same active ion.

Used for

Used for complex partial seizures alone or with other seizure types, as sole or adjunctive therapy for simple and complex absence seizures, and as an add-on where several seizure types include absence seizures. Liver damage, sometimes fatal, has been reported, usually during the first six months of treatment, so liver function tests should be done before treatment and at frequent intervals during treatment.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
