Telmivib Trio tablets are used to treat high blood pressure with telmisartan, hydrochlorothiazide and amlodipine. Main uses: treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), to lower blood pressure; lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular events, mainly stroke and heart attack; used when blood pressure is not controlled by a single medicine; part of overall cardiovascular risk management along with lifestyle measures.

Common side effects of Telmivib Trio Tablet include dizziness; headache; swelling of the ankles or feet; tiredness; back pain; diarrhoea. Get medical help at once if you notice injury and death to the developing fetus if used during pregnancy; swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat (angioedema); severe low blood pressure, especially in patients low on salt or fluid.

Telmisartan acts by blocking angiotensin II, a substance that tightens blood vessels, so the vessels stay relaxed. Hydrochlorothiazide works as a diuretic and helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water through urine. Amlodipine relaxes the muscle in the walls of the arteries. The three ingredients act in different ways to bring blood pressure down and ease the workload on the heart.

Must not be used in pregnancy; stop the medicine as soon as pregnancy is detected. Must not be used by patients allergic to telmisartan, hydrochlorothiazide, amlodipine or any other ingredient, or allergic to sulfonamide-derived drugs. Must not be used in patients who pass no urine (anuria). Must not be given with aliskiren in patients with diabetes, and must not be used together with an ACE inhibitor unless the doctor specifically directs it and monitors closely, as blocking the renin-angiotensin system at two points raises the risk of kidney problems, low blood pressure and high potassium. Check with a doctor first if you have kidney or liver disease, diabetes, gout, low potassium, are breastfeeding, or are elderly.
