About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Vibotim Eye Drop is an eye drop solution from Vibcare Pharma. Each millilitre contains Timolol Maleate 0.5% w/v. It falls in the class of beta-adrenergic blocking agents (beta-blockers) used in ophthalmology. The product is packed as 5ml and is supplied from Vibcare Pharma's Optho division.

How it works

Timolol maleate works as a beta-blocker in the eye. It lowers the pressure inside the eye by cutting down the amount of fluid, called aqueous humour, that the eye produces through the day. A lower eye pressure reduces the strain on the optic nerve at the back of the eye. Although it is placed in the eye, the drop can be absorbed into the body and may cause the same beta-blocker effects as beta-blocker tablets, including serious breathing and heart reactions.

Used for

These drops are used to reduce raised intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma and in those with ocular hypertension.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
