About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Tofavib 5 is a tablet formulation from Vibcare Pharma. Each tablet contains Tofacitinib 5 mg, which belongs to the class known as Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors, used as a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD). It is packed as 10x10 (Alu Alu) and comes from Vibcare Pharma's Genvimax division.

How it works

Tofacitinib works inside the immune cells by blocking Janus kinase (JAK) enzymes. These enzymes carry signals from inflammatory messengers to the cell's nucleus and switch on immune activity. By interrupting this signalling step, the tablet helps to bring down the joint inflammation and immune overactivity that drive these conditions.

Used for

Tofavib 5 is used in adults with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis, active psoriatic arthritis or active ankylosing spondylitis who have had an inadequate response or intolerance to one or more TNF blockers. Serious infections and an increased risk of death have been reported with this medicine.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
