Vimojem MF tablets combine Tranexamic Acid 500 mg with Mefenamic Acid 250 mg for heavy menstrual bleeding and pain during periods. Main uses: treatment of cyclic heavy menstrual bleeding in women of reproductive potential; relief of primary dysmenorrhoea (painful periods); short-term relief of mild to moderate pain when therapy does not exceed one week.

Common side effects of Vimojem MF Tablet include headache; abdominal pain; back pain and muscle cramps; nausea, indigestion or diarrhoea; dizziness; sinus and nasal symptoms. Get medical help at once if you notice venous or arterial thrombosis or thromboembolism, including retinal artery or vein occlusion; gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration or perforation; severe allergic reaction or serious skin reactions.

Mefenamic acid, an NSAID, reduces prostaglandin levels in the tissues and so relieves pain, cramps and inflammation during menstruation. Tranexamic acid is an antifibrinolytic; it prevents the breakdown of the fibrin mesh that holds a blood clot together, which helps control excessive bleeding during periods. Working through these two different actions, the tablet addresses both the blood loss and the pain of heavy, painful periods.

Must not be used by women taking combined hormonal contraceptives. Must not be used in active thromboembolic disease, a history of thrombosis or thromboembolism, or an intrinsic risk of thrombosis (including retinal vein or artery occlusion). Must not be used by anyone allergic to tranexamic acid or mefenamic acid. Must not be used by patients who have had asthma, urticaria or allergic-type reactions after aspirin or other NSAIDs. Must not be used in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
