ETOLOL 120 ETORICOXIB 120mg. IP

Etolol 120 is an Etoricoxib 120 mg tablet used for short-term relief of acute gout pain and painful menstrual periods. Main uses: short-term relief of pain and swelling in acute gouty arthritis; short-term relief of painful menstrual periods (primary dysmenorrhoea); relief of pain and inflammation where a doctor has advised this strength.

Common side effects of Etolol 120 Tablet include headache and dizziness; palpitations (awareness of heartbeat); abdominal pain, heartburn and indigestion; nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea; swelling of the feet, ankles or legs; rise in blood pressure. Get medical help at once if you notice stomach or intestinal bleeding, ulcer or perforation; heart attack, stroke or other clotting events in the blood vessels; severe liver reactions or yellowing of the skin and eyes.

Each Etolol 120 tablet contains Etoricoxib 120 mg. The right dose and how long to take it depend on the condition, age and other medicines, so use Etolol 120 Tablet only as your doctor advises.

The tablet works through Etoricoxib, which blocks the COX-2 enzyme that the body produces when tissues are injured or inflamed. COX-2 is responsible for making prostaglandins, the chemicals that signal pain and bring about swelling in the affected area. With fewer prostaglandins being made, pain is eased and swelling comes down, which is why the tablet is used for short spells of troublesome pain rather than for everyday aches.

Must not be used by anyone allergic to etoricoxib, or to aspirin or other NSAIDs where these caused wheezing, a runny nose with nasal polyps, swelling of the face or lips, or hives. Must not be used by patients with an active stomach or intestinal ulcer, stomach or intestinal bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, serious liver disease, or severe kidney disease. Must not be used by patients with heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or established heart disease, blocked arteries of the legs, or a previous stroke. Must not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, or by children under 16 years of age. Check with a doctor first if you have asthma, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure under treatment, or if you are dehydrated.
