About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Viglim Trio 1/0.2 is an anti-diabetic tablet that combines three medicines in one dose: Glimepiride 1 mg, Metformin 500 mg and Voglibose 0.2 mg. It is supplied by Vibcare Pharma and is packed as 10x15 (Blister).

How it works

Each ingredient works in a different way to keep blood glucose under control. Glimepiride encourages the pancreas to release more insulin. Metformin reduces the amount of glucose produced by the liver and helps the body respond more readily to its own insulin. Voglibose slows the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine, so the rise in blood glucose after meals is smaller. Together they help control both fasting and after-meal glucose levels.

Used for

Viglim Trio 1/0.2 is used as an addition to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Metformin in this tablet carries a risk of lactic acidosis, a rare but serious condition with symptoms such as deep rapid breathing, muscle pain, unusual sleepiness and abdominal pain; the risk is higher with kidney disease, heavy alcohol use, dehydration, liver disease and around scans with contrast dye.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
