Atovib Gold 10 capsules offer atorvastatin, clopidogrel and aspirin for cholesterol control and reduced heart attack and stroke risk. Main uses: lowers low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol as an add-on to diet; reduces the risk of heart attack, stroke and procedures to open narrowed arteries in adults with coronary heart disease risk factors; used in acute coronary syndrome to reduce the rate of heart attack and stroke; used after a recent heart attack or a recent stroke to reduce the rate of heart attack and stroke; used in established peripheral arterial disease to reduce the rate of heart attack and stroke.

Common side effects of Atovib Gold 10 Capsule include muscle aches or joint pain; diarrhoea and stomach upset; nosebleeds or minor bleeding; cold-like symptoms such as a runny or blocked nose; pain in the arms or legs; nausea. Get medical help at once if you notice unusual muscle pain, tenderness or weakness with fever; yellowing of the skin or eyes or other signs of liver problems; severe or unusual bleeding, including bleeding in the stomach or brain.

The three parts of the capsule do different jobs. Atorvastatin keeps the liver from making as much cholesterol, which brings LDL cholesterol down. Clopidogrel makes platelets less able to stick to one another by blocking a platelet receptor, although in CYP2C19 poor metabolizers less active metabolite is formed and the effect on platelets can be weaker. Aspirin works on platelets in a different way, and the two antiplatelet agents together make clot formation less likely in a narrowed artery.

Must not be used if there is active bleeding such as a peptic ulcer or bleeding inside the brain. Must not be used if there is acute liver failure or decompensated cirrhosis. Must not be used if there is an allergy to atorvastatin, clopidogrel, aspirin or any ingredient of the capsule. Must not be used for children or teenagers who have or are recovering from chicken pox or flu-like illness (Reye's syndrome); the clopidogrel in this capsule must not be taken together with omeprazole or esomeprazole, as they reduce its antiplatelet effect. Check with a doctor first if there is a history of stomach ulcers or stomach bleeding, kidney problems, heavy alcohol use, planned surgery, pregnancy or breastfeeding; in known CYP2C19 poor metabolizers clopidogrel may give less antiplatelet effect and another P2Y12 inhibitor may be considered.
