Atovib Gold 20 capsules combine atorvastatin 20 mg, clopidogrel 75 mg and aspirin 75 mg to lower cholesterol and reduce heart attack and stroke risk. Main uses: lowering raised cholesterol as an addition to diet; reducing the chance of heart attack and stroke in people with coronary heart disease risk factors; reducing the chance of heart attack and stroke after a recent heart attack or stroke; lowering the risk of further heart and blood vessel events in established peripheral arterial disease; reducing the rate of heart attack and stroke in acute coronary syndrome, given with aspirin.

Common side effects of Atovib Gold 20 Capsule include bruising or bleeding from the gums or nose; stomach pain, indigestion or heartburn; diarrhoea or nausea; muscle aches and pains; joint pain; pain in the arms or legs. Get medical help at once if you notice severe bleeding, including bleeding in the stomach or brain; muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis) with unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness; liver problems with yellowing of the skin or eyes.

In this capsule, Atorvastatin reduces cholesterol production in the liver and improves the removal of LDL cholesterol from the circulation. Clopidogrel works as an antiplatelet agent by blocking the P2Y12 receptor on platelets, so they are less able to stick to each other and form a clot. Aspirin supports this action by reducing platelet aggregation as well, and both agents together lower the tendency of blood clots to form inside arteries.

Must not be used if there is active bleeding, such as a bleeding stomach ulcer or bleeding in the brain. Must not be used if there is allergy or hypersensitivity to atorvastatin, clopidogrel, aspirin or any ingredient of the capsule. Must not be used in acute liver failure or decompensated cirrhosis. Must not be used in children or teenagers who have or are recovering from chickenpox or flu-like symptoms (aspirin risk of Reye's syndrome). Avoid taking omeprazole or esomeprazole together with this capsule, because they reduce the antiplatelet action of clopidogrel.
