Description

Azivib 200 Suspension is an oral suspension made by Vibcare Pharma, with Azithromycin 200mg as its active ingredient. It belongs to the macrolide class of antibacterial medicines and is packed as 15ml. The product comes from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division.

How it works

Azithromycin works by stopping bacteria from producing the proteins they need to multiply. When the bacteria cannot grow, the infection is brought under control and the body's own defence can clear it. Being an oral suspension, it is a liquid form suited to patients who find tablets difficult to swallow.

Used for

Azivib 200 Suspension is used for mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible bacteria, such as acute otitis media, community-acquired pneumonia, pharyngitis/tonsillitis, sinusitis, bronchitis and skin infections. In newborns treated in the first 42 days of life, infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis has been reported; contact a physician if the baby vomits or becomes irritable during feeding. Use only on a doctor's prescription.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
